Brian’s specialties include historic properties, senior care facilities, and resorts. He has prepared appraisal reports for historic preservation and conservation easements, FIRPTA reporting, gifting, litigation, ad valorem (property tax) appeal, Federal acquisition and shareholder disputes.

Brian’s clientele has included many local and state municipalities, the US Government, developers, banks, law firms, and private owners. He has completed appraisals throughout the United States, Central America, Europe, Asia, and the Caribbean, and holds licenses in several states.

In addition to being a Certified General Appraiser and a Real Estate Broker, Brian has authored and presented several courses and seminars throughout the United States and is a AQB Certified USPAP Instructor. He has also been awarded the ASA – Real Property Urban Designation from the American Society of Appraisers, the FRICS – Fellow of Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors Valuation, the MAI and the SRA designations from the Appraisal Institute.

Brian is the former the Chairperson of the State of Michigan Real Estate Appraisers Board, and has served as a Subject Matter Expert for the Appraisal Qualification Board.
